In fact, there is someone inside of Trinnov who would agree with me (but not publicly). There are those (existing Trinnov owners) who might argue that but they have not done the direct comparison that I did. For a 7.x.4 system, Dirac properly set up and calibrated on a Datasat by someone who knows what they are doing sounds virtually identical to a Trinnov set up properly.

Once you get to this level of capability, there is a lot more required than just placing the Dirac mic, running the measurements, moving the mic and repeating.Īnd one more thing. It's like me wanting to sell my car this year versus next when a redesign is released.Īt the instruction of the remote calibrator, did you use any external measurement tools so that you could see the results of selecting, for example, LFE delay options or optional crossover points or slopes actual FR vs target curve selection adjusting delays (Dirac did not always get them perfect), etc? What tools did you use to set PEQs? How did you adjust the target curves to insure they were properly set? Now that there is a lower cost 16 channel versions (that hopefully works and bug free), I predict some people who were forced up the food chain will bail on their spendy version out of fear of a price drop. They are often (not always) the ones that sell their products versus holding them. So I'm curious to see what happens to the enthusiasts. That is how I roll ^^ with cars and I can list off dozens of people who behave that way on this very forum relating to prepros. Since that isn't possible, I am searching for deals on cars or trucks that depreciate less (and therefore cost a lot less). SO LONG AS it is worth $95K the following year with 12,000 more miles. Allow me to give an analogy: I have no problem spending $100K on a car or SUV. Not so much $$ outlay, but what it costs them as a whole. As in, people who care how much they spend on their hobby.

I also have a large batch of enthusiasts. With all that said, I cater to that client (I have prepros from $2200 prepros all the way to $30K). There are not one to trade in items very often. They are often in the camp of non-enthusiasts where the dealer decides what they use and why.
